Snowy en plein air

It rarely snows heavily in Kyoto, but when it did in mid-February this year, I grabbed my gear and went outdoors, attempting to stay warm and dry at the Imperial Palace park in Kyoto.  Luckily the palace is only about 5 minutes by bike from my apartment because after a couple of hours of heavy snowfall I was soaking wet and my fingers were numb.

"Winter in Kyoto" - 9" x 12" oil on linen canvas board

Makeshift umbrella holder.  Need a bigger umbrella as I still got soaked
