Snowy en plein air
It rarely snows heavily in Kyoto, but when it did in mid-February this year, I grabbed my gear and went outdoors, attempting to stay warm and dry at the Imperial Palace park in Kyoto. Luckily the palace is only about 5 minutes by bike from my apartment because after a couple of hours of heavy snowfall I was soaking wet and my fingers were numb.

More figure drawings
This week I was sick, but I managed to drag myself over to Osaka for another figure drawing session. These sessions were quick 1 minute, 3 minute and 5 minute gestures. Here are some of the highlights of my efforts from 2 different sessions over a 2 week period.

Great painting weather on the west bank of Kamogawa, the main river which runs through Kyoto.
